Ten Things My Mother Taught Me

1. Never talk with your mouth full of food.

2. Don’t trust authority.

3. Wear makeup to look as if you aren’t wearing any.

4. Sometimes a lie is kinder than the truth.

5. Your handbag should match your shoes.

6. Forgiveness is overrated.

7. You don’t have to love someone to enjoy sex.

8. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.

9. Love the one you’re with.

10. You don’t have to believe in God to be a good person.

Ten Things My Grandmother Taught Me

1. Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear.

2. You will draw more flies with honey than vinegar.

3. Let go of the things you can’t control.

4. Do not cast your pearls before swine.

5. No means NO.

6. Marriage helps keep a couple together for the times they aren’t in love so they can fall back in love again.

7. Grandchildren are more fun than children.
